We are content creators who broker information that drives Climate action. At CIFA, we believe that the transformation journey towards addressing Climate Change starts with knowledge. This is why one of our core focuses is to realign and repackage climate literature and resources into forms that are optimized, relevant, palatable and value adding to the Christian community.
An educated community is able to translate its knowledge into life changing actions (small and big) that significantly contribute to the much needed change both from an adaptation, as well as mitigation stand view. Our belief at CIFA is that change is only possible when communities act uniformly from an informed position. We love running actions that are coordinated, documented, measurable and scalable. This in essence is our simple and yet profound story, creating content that drives change.
Without people, there is no CIFA. Building communities is the rst concern in the entire work process. Because of our new posture, our overall community will be subdivided into various faith groups that all function under the auspices of CIFA.
We believe in building communities, not audiences. Audiences tend to listen and talk yet communities learn and act. Communities have a solid ability to drive transformation because they are premised on real and deep connections that are held in place by worthy causes. For us, creation care through stewardship represents that cause in the middle as we work towards a low carbon and equitable future for all people.
Once a community is established, the next step is to transfer education and knowledge. The key is knowing the exact content that will be received and appropriated by different communities. Content creation then becomes a function that is informed by the nature and characteristics of the targeted community. For example, when dealing with the Christian faith community, it is crucial to stamp components of the Christian faith DNA and sacred text extracts from the Bible to back up, reinforce and support the content. Similarly, when dealing with the Muslim community, its noble to back up the content with DNA from their foundational faith documents.
The objective of all learning is to ultimately prepare communities for action. If the story ends on the education and knowledge transfer chapter, then we lose the race. We need to create and promote a series of causes and campaigns that will inspire and compel communities to rise up and be the needed change. Running awareness clinics and seminars exposes and discusses the challenges. Running actions addresses the challenges. The power of a movement is that it is decentralized in its expression and no one can really claim ownership of it. Such traits create optimum conditions for communities to buy in.
Climate, environmental and ecological challenges are human matters. There is a deep need for convergence sooner or later. Irrespective of differences in faith affiliations, we all need to come together and deploy a uniformed approach when it comes to stewarding creation. The collaboration bracket is the pedestal that fosters linkages and synergies between different faith communities.
It is our hope to share some of our best practices with alternative faith groups should they be willing to adopt systems, models and resources that we recommend and make available.
